Bakelite was first, then wood. Not all were Waa marked. I have many wood stocks, if they were marked its been scrubbed off. I have however sold a very few mint WWII stocks with Waa marks. The way to tell a post war bakelite stock from a WWII one is the ring around the backplate screw, small (1/8") for WWII, large (3/8") for postwar.

The backplate screw is only on the baklite stocks as the stock is two piece. I have seen many wood stocks with the Waffenmiester dowel reinforcement, they are WWII. As far as I know, all post war stocks were re-used WWII or baklite.
