Thats a Yugo M53. Visually the giveaway is the lack of front AA mount, it should be just behind the front sight. See the pic below

Ah just looked at the second picture and I am not so sure about it being an M53 now.

Just compared my M53 and the pics you have and I have changed my mine back again. The example you have has the same style serial number as my M53 but yours has a lot less info on the receiver than mine. Looks like the Yugos stopped putting all the info on the gums like the Germans did towards the end of the war.

So there you go it is definitely possible that it may be a Yugo M53. Hope that clears this up for you

confirm... the anti aircraft mount is missing....so it seems a yugo one ...but the strange is the absence of any mark on receiver and the lack of yugo crest on the top

I have several top covers that have no markings,I think they were 'scrubbed' to remove them.It makes the 53 look more like a 42.Look inside the cover for part numbers on the feed arm, etc. ---bil

Waffendude,
Most of the Yugo-53 parts I have carry part numbers like this, S111-xxxxx or S113-xxxxx, maybe this will help to I.D. the gun.
Any one know if the Yugo's ever made m-53's for export? Some times exported guns were sent out unmarked, ie "sanitized".

The top cover *may* be German, but got included in the Yugo kit. I have one like that in mine. MOSTLY Yugo, but a few German parts in the mix.
