Ejector question

Post by Pirate »

I have been studying the bolt and the mods to make it semi auto. I was wondering if
anyone has tried to use a plunger type ejector, like in an ar15 instead of the push rod.
Using a plunger would eliminate the extension rod & sleeve. The rear of the bolt could
be plugged and a modified feed stud screwed into it. It seems it would simplify the bolt
mods.
The only potential draw back I see is it would dent the case mouth, but if you are not
reloading, so what.

one of the problems is that the distance from the chamber to the ejection port is way to long , it would cause the empty case to bang around inside the gun if it had a ar type ejector.john

I had previously thought about the same thing. But also came to the same conclusion. I believe you are right. That the empty would actually start to eject long before it should and not clear the port.
