Man, he really needs a good webmaster. His pictures are terrible...I would never let one of my customers page look like that. I would love to see more, bigger and clearer pictures.

I've seen better pictures of Bigfoot.

caveat emptor , I'd want much better pictures than that before I'd plunk down 300 bucks for square tubing. the rivet dimples aren't even pressed in like they are advertising in the example their showing  .
"good , bad, .....I'm the man with the gun."

Its amazing anything works right around here with a bunch of
over-age juvenile delinquents running the place.

Rocco be careful forming a group. In the early 80 some of us into full autos shot in a west Phx gravel pit. Some one in the group said we were the western defense for the US, because CA was already unarmed. Printed up some t-shirts as a joke.
Clinton came into office. Channel 10 did a story that went national.
A month later the owner of the gravel pit got a letter from Janet Reno. Said the goverment would not tolerate a millia, and to cease immediately.

Also did you get any of the czech ammo from J&G at the Phx show.I got there late got the last two cases.

For what its worth, Coldsteel's AK receiver shells are a staple source for the AK builder community. I personally purchase all of my 80% shells from him and recommend him on my website.

He has always been very open to feedback, so if something needs improvement, I'd recommend emailing him to let him know.

Receiver Blank

Post by coldsteel »

Hello fellow builders we are now branching out from the AK blanks to the MG42 blanks.
We thought that you might like a little info on us.
We are a small shop that is motivated by a love of what we do, the business that we have is a mom and pop run shop. Our products are made one at a time by hand and we back our products with our guarentee that the products are buildable and that if there is any problem, let me say that again (if there is any problem with the blank like to short or in any way unusable) we will work with you to correct the problem up to and encluding replacement or a refund.
We are like you we want what we ordered because money doesnt grow on trees and this hobby of building our own weapons is exspensive and time consuming so please understand that we are small and that our focuse is on the customer and on your product.
We do this because we love what we do and we are always here in the shop and we always answer our email and in most cases we answer them the same day.
Our MG42 is made out of .100 4130 sheet steel and the blank is made from eight seperate dies for small parts and for straightness. We were not interested orignialy in this blank because of its need for multi piece dies, but we were asked more times that I can count if we were planning to develop this blank. So we went for it. It is tough, slow and down right fun when we set up for it.
Well basically we want you to know that we will work with you on everything that we can and that we are always open and reseptive to constructive critisisem

Coldsteelsolutions Receiver

Is it possibile to provide the indentations for mounting the bolt rails?

Somebody suggested using washers to acheive the raised effect...but wouldn't be easier for the builder to have something constructed like the original?

ColdSteel--

Thanks for the update. Would love to see photos of the manufacturing process for these blanks! We all understand the complexity of the receivers, and it would be most interesting to see what it takes to turn these out.

Thanks for going to the trouble and investment necessary to bring them to market.
