New TNW Trigger Setup

Called TNW today about the new improved lighter trigger setup, kind of taken back with the $285.00 price. I don't complain about price as a rule, but WOW. I told the gal that I had a very low, below 25, serial # receiver and that it was one of the ones that they "forgot" to broach one cut on and I kept it and fixed anyway. I asked if she couldn't give me a bit of consideration, after all, and she told me to call back Monday and talk to Lance, see if he remembers me. What can it hurt to ask?? Does anyone have the "new" setup and how much better is it?? I guess what I'm asking is, is it $285.00 better???

Where has that been posted? I looked at the website and didnt see where they mention either the improved trigger or how much it cost. You message is the first news I have heard of it since Pirate mentioned it months ago. I think I will wait till others post some positive testimonials of it before I drop 3 bills on it.

You figure that since some of us bought one of their fine SA MG34 that they would give us a good deal. 3 bills is a lot for a new design and dont even know if it is durable.

It would have to be more durable than the original trigger setup for me to invest in it. I have gone thru at least 3 TNW sears in mine so far. I wouldnt want to have to pay $285 each time the sear wears out.

What does this new setup contain exactly? Just the Searholder and Sear arm? The triggerbar assembly is the same as the "old Design"

I have something very close to the "New Design" available. Cost is about half of TNW's.

Now I know for sure I'm charging a low fair price for the Bolt Conversions which include the sear assembly.

From talking with the Gal at TNW, I guess you get everything involved with the firing control. Sounded like all parts in their conversion setup except the receiver, I asked if my bolt needed any mods and she said "no". I think all parts change out, she said "new firing pin spring" and ring, lever, sear, and all trigger parts. I guess my question for Lance will be" do I go from a 25 lb trigger to a 15 lb trigger or what??" No body has one yet?? Lon

Helix, I had the same idea for a searholder. Like yours, the fulcrum part of the sear arm was to be closer to the tip of the sear to increase the leverage making the trigger pull easier. However my machinist friend that I got to do some of my bolt mods when I was working on my SA42 has gotten so lazy lately that I gave up on working with him to make anything. It took him 3 months to turn a copper bar down from 1.25 to 1.15 diameter.

How much do you charge for the sear holder and sear? Does yours interchange perfectly with a TNW bolt/trigger setup?

I've sold a few to those to owners with the origional TNW modified bolt. No complains so far. I honestly do not have a TNW bolt available to check this out. But am willing to work with you to verify that my parts will work. All conversion parts I currently sell have a 1 year warranty on material and workmanship. ie you wear it out or break in within 1 year I replace it free shipping not included.

Price for sear assembly alone is $95. There are 5 individual setups just to make the sear holder alone. The sears themselves only need 2-1/2 setups to make.
