got my spider sight for the mg42 from IO and it is an excellent buy I would get it now before prices go up looks identical to the original

I agree with Tom R, this is an excellent reproduction part. IO told me they were made on the original tooling; don't know if this is true or not, but the sight is superb.

When these are gone, there probably won't be any more as I have had mine for about 2 years now so they are not "fast movers". If you want one, I would buy now!

The sight is great - just got mine and needed fitting - the 2 small tabs on the sight which go down into the sight base are too wide and need to be reduced so they would drop into the base - otherside great.

How much were the reproduction sights? I got my real one (waffenproofed) 2 years ago from a guy in Italy for $52 + $8 shipping.

Here are the parts from a pic in a manual. It goes in the hole on the left side of the rear sight.

IO did have the MG34 AA sights in stock too at the same price. From what I know, the mounting for the MG34 is a little different from the MG42. I have no idea about the rear sight bar on the MG34.

The rear AA sight for the 34 is located on the back side of the "regular site" it just flips out. Most 34's are missing them.

Abwehr, you're correct. The two sight mounts required different mounts on the bottom of the post of the sights.

Northriidge has the rear sight for the mg42 - listed in the new catalog as item #sn-337r mg42 aa "J" rear priced at $ 90.00
