Click on the triggers to see the animation. On the first one, right click and select play.

Sorry about the background. It's meant to be displayed on a white background.

I noticed they focused on the metal belts for the MG-42 when talking diagramming the feeding and extraction.

How do the cloth belts not get in the way of the feeding and extraction process?

Cloth belts like used in a browning 1919 ?
The browning design pulls the round back out of the belt, then lowers the round under the "feedtray" as it feeds it forward into the chamber.
The 42 is a push through design where the belts hold 3/4 of the round ,open on the bottom, and the bolt pushes the round (forward only) into the chamber.

The 42 has a simpler, I feel a better design.
"good , bad, .....I'm the man with the gun."

Its amazing anything works right around here with a bunch of
over-age juvenile delinquents running the place.
