Ok, so now that the MG42 receiver problem will be....
The receiver problem will be almost non-existant Jan of this coming year due to Wise Lite and Cold Steel Solutions making brand new rear receiver section stampings, and Philidelphia Ordnance making machined receivers (due in March..). There only remeains one issue..... where does one find quality parts set?
Sherman wrote:"vaporware," Love it. Has anyone seen or could someone post photos of these "receivers"??? Lon
This is a pic of their origional receiver and the one the plan on releasing around March will be a full receiver in two halves complete with the forward section of receiver.
No photo's of the other two guys receivers but from what posters have "said" (take with a grain of salt...), Wisner and Cold Steel Solutions make other top quality receivers.
The Philadelphia Ordnance setup is nothing more than their old 80% machined receiver that is attached to the new barrel shroud section. It doesn't have a camming section, just some lips that extend under the "trunnion" assembly and attach to the shroud. So, the PO receiver is still unusable for anything other than a display non-gun as is, or as a gas gun if you wanted to go to the expense of having the receiver machined out further.
Haven't heard about WiseLite. Their website is blank right now. Where did you hear that they will be producing rear receiver sections? Hope it's true, and that they produce a quality product. The additional competition will be welcome.
So, that leaves the Cold Steel Solutions stampings due in January. I've been back to their site several times, and they've done admirable jobs on their other productions. They offer guage choices on their other receivers, don't know what will be standard on the MG42s. Posts I read from their customers all seem positive.
So, you're right -- there may be light at the end of the tunnel. We'll all have to wait at least till Jan. 07 to see exactly what will be available to us and at what price. I wouldn't turn down any good deals on cut receivers, nonetheless.

You are correct that the picture I posted is their old rear receiver section attached to a forward section of receiver. I posted the second pic because the new receiver he is working on will be a complete receiver. (Not complete in the % aspect that BATF requires; complete in that it will have both the forward and rear section of receiver machined.) He is just waiting for the approval from the BATF. *crosses fingers*gdmoore28 wrote: -snip-

Yeah, and the PEEPING toms, too!!!!
It's a Miracle on MG42nd Street!!!
Welcome, WiseLite fellow
Like everybody else, I have tons of questions, but I'll restrict myself to just one for now:
Lots of guys have receivers, but are missing the camming section -- starting just behind the rear sight and extending 4 -- 5 inches back. Will you be able to offer this section?
Again, good to hear from you. Good luck with the BATFE.

Are you posting them for sale now?wiselitearms wrote:In response to a few questions...
The new receiver we designed and built is approximately 3" longer than the BRP style which as you know would incorporate the camming section. How does one post items for sale on this website?
Thanks.
If so I'll take 2! Seriously
By the way, whats the thickness of the receivers?
