Look at their website. What they call "blanks" are actually formed sections that have to be drilled, slots cut, etc.. some of them in section halves that need to be welded longitudinally. I'm sure they are doing it this way so that they can meet their specifications for an "80%" receiver.

If the MG42 "blanks" conform to the standards of the receivers they already sell, they will, I assume, be a lot like the BRP items. Their site says that their "blanks" are sold with blueprints and are available with drilling points "centerpunched" for extra fee.

I didn't see any receivers on their site that require "bending" by the customer.

Follow the link to the Cold Steel Solutions site and you'll see the standards they are likely to follow.

Actually, I did follow the link and read the "Cold Steel Solutions" web page before I posted. In the past I have visited this site and I have looked at various products offered. I did miss their standard mention that the blanks are "pre-bent". I guess I let my imagination run away with the "AK Flats" thought. I am not at all familiar with what BRP sold so only have the AK point of reference. Cold Steel Solutions isn't really saying much about the MG42 receiver idea so far.
A few things they may have to change though. The BATFE letter on Weaponeer says no PPSH-41 trunnions can be sold separately, they have to be installed into a receiver. A follow up letter asks if PPSH-41 trunnion "blanks" can be sold? Also, "Wise Lite Arms" was going to offer a %80 1919 sideplate with the rivet holes centered so it would allow more precise drilling by the home builder. When submitted to BATFE "tech Branch" they classified it as a %100 receiver. The point I am making is that BATFE is adjusting there standards. Some other recently submitted %80 "projects" are stuck in "Tech Branch" limbo.

Sorry if I let my imagination run away. I wasn't trying to "slam" Cold Steel Solutions. Any outfit that helps "enable" home builders deserves praise for any effort they have made.
