Got my kits as well today. I opened up one kit and cleaned of the cosmolene. The parts are all in great condition and even noticed that the barrel MAY may be an original German unit. The area towards the chamber was turned and appears as if the stampings were removed and new stampings put on.
thanks,
Ron

I think he meant the "barrel guide sleeve", the machined part at the end of the shroud the flash hider screws onto and the barrel bushing slides into.hakentt wrote:I got mine in new condition, I did not miss any parts in the kit. Barrel is new too.LtShaffer wrote:Did everyone get a barrel bearing in there kit? I didn't. I needed that the most.
website
ON their website it says :
Yugo mfg.
Belt fed.
Patterned after the German MG42.
Bipod included.
Inverted cone muzzle booster (flashider).
8x57 caliber.
Pistol grip.
Wooden buttstock.
Ported barrel shroud.
No receiver parts included with kit.
All removable parts from inside the receiver (rails, etc) are included.
Barrel in excellent condition.
Barrel bearing included.
Chamber end of the receiver is not included.
Feed tray included.
Front and rear sight parts included.
Bolt included.
Cannot guarantee a light MG42-type bolt or a heavy-type bolt.
Trunion/locking roller cam included.
Possibility that some parts may be German marked, but we cannot guarantee that any will be.
Some parts may be interchangeable with MG42.
I guess that was wishful thinking on my part that the "barrel bearing" was the nose piece not found on other Jugo kits.

Gentlemen, might I ask a potentially dumb question?
Is this kit, of which I am contemplating on purchasing, suitable for a S.A. .308 conversion?
I am very happy to hear you all got wonderful parts! CFS sure has one heck of a deal there!
Thank you all for your valuable assistance!
God bless,
Joshua R. Smith

I'm not sure what you mean by "suitable" but you will be able to convert any 8MM "42 style" gun to a .308 . you will need to find the correct parts for the conversion but they don't have to be from any specific source. That is you don't need , German conversion parts for a German gun / Yugo conversion parts for a Yugo gun .Joshua R. Smith wrote:Gentlemen, Is this kit suitable for a S.A. .308 conversion?
You are in theory able to put any part or subsection on any receiver and have it work . i say in theory because these are ALL worn surplus parts to some degree and you might get a part that needs adjusting or just doesn't like working with you but works great on someone else's gun.
"good , bad, .....I'm the man with the gun."
