thats a current issue mg3 armours kit.
the plunger assembly for the extractor is round not square like every old kit imported into this country , also the spring for the plunger is a slightly larger diameter making it useless for us.
the only really good parts to have are the extractors.
IMHO - waste of money you can put together a better kit yourself for less.
"good , bad, .....I'm the man with the gun."

Its amazing anything works right around here with a bunch of
over-age juvenile delinquents running the place.

You can get these from RTG for $59.00, IMO these are worthless post war kits!

the round extractors don't fit the square extractor bolt head, either. I got my kit for $20. I figured the firing pins and ejector rods were worth that. Without a modern bolt head, the extractors are a great decoration on a keychain - nothing more.

Gunners Kit

Post by Abwehr »

Tom R,

Is the Gunners Kit you purchased the one with all the tools, cleaning supplies, and oil cans in a pocketed, canvas pouch with leather sling? If it is, it sounds like the one I have that is post war Yugoslavian. Actually, the contents I have in my kit are very similar to the WWII German tools. I think I paid $30 for mine a year or so ago.

One item in my kit is the carbon scraper; this thing is great for cleaning the interior of the booster!

YES THATS THE ONE, the yugo doesn't bother me, it all looks the same just cheaper :D
here is a link to the page, at $39 I think it is worth it think mine was cheaper with the gb a while back http://www.mg34.com/Mg_42.html think it actually looked unissued, just some mildew/mold on the leather
