where are you looking at purchasing it?

I think I own it...but I didn't pay full price.

I have found many great deals from the merchants section of Amazon as well as ebay.

If you're interested in the MG34 and 42, Folke Myrvang's book is worth having for development and historical information. Musgrave's book on German MG's is interesting, but not $90 worth. Shop around, it's available for about half that. Translated German operator and repair manuals are available from me, see my website listed below.

Ditto to what John said-and his manuals are translated copies of the original German manuals, with the original pictures. As you can see from his picture,he has extensive experiance with these! ---bil

machinestman,
The older book "German Machineguns" by Musgrave is more of a general book on all German Machineguns....with small sections about the MG42 and MG34.....

Folke Myrvang's book "The MG34 and MG42 German Machineguns" is 95% about the German MG34 and MG42.....well worth the money for the amount of information and photos in the book.

It is worth owning, I bought a new copy locally for $80. I would keep checking Amazon or I would be happy to provide you the information for the dealer I purchased from.

It is actually one of the very good reference books. There are mistakes and info that was later found to be different but compared to a lot of the other general info books out there its outstanding. Is it worth $90???? I don't know for sure but I do know you can find it cheaper. Do an amazon search for used books, check ebay and also see if IMA still has a deal going on them. I've got both the 1st and 2nd editions and use them frequently especially for reference info pertaining to the aircraft guns. Its hard to find any info on them and musgrave did a very good job of covering a goodly number of them.

Hope that helps
Frank
