I've carried one about 100 yards, the distance from my house to the barn and back, and it just about killed my arm. I think wearing it like a backpack should be easier when I carry it 200 yards to my range, as long as someone else carries the gun and ammo

That's good news for anyone needing a nice sling.

I had Frank Barone make a nice one for me using original German hardware. It works great.

I just got my sling in from ATF. These things are nice!

I got my repro. MG42 sling a year ago so I don't know if this information is valid or up to-date.

We were comparing slings from atf & acme the other week at Billie Creek & the atf ones appear to be slightly shorter. My buddy (who has the atf one) had skinned knuckles from his hand being too close to the gun when carrying it by the straps. My acme one did not have the issue. I will say his connector (attaches to the gripstick) was better. My connector failed (it's a cheap repop) & I replaced it with a yugo one.
