Hi Guys! I recently found 4 lovely condition MG42 barrels while going through boxes of my old stuff from 30 years ago. I'm not into MG's anymore so will eventually like to sell these but I have no idea as to a proper price to ask for them. Two of mine are rounded in the locking groove, and two are squared locking lug grooves. The machining is much nicer on the two with squared locking lug grooves. I assume early production versus late war? Here's a few pics. These all have Waffenampt marks on them, other makers stamps and and the bores are beautiful. One with rounded locking lug groove has a chromed plated bore.
While discussing these barrels on Canadian Gun Nutz, a fellow member suggested I post them on here. After checking out the forum, I see why! You guys are a wealth of German MG knowledge! Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Sorry, I'm in Canada. Not sure what the law is regarding sending them out of the country.

Re: MG42 barrel question?
Guys, I've had a few messages wanting to know about certain ID marks so I'll post what I see on them other than all those tiny Waffenampts. First one RA, dfb over a 9 in a shield, DFB on the chrome lined bore barrel with rounded locking grooves with (dfb over a 12 on the collar as well as an FH). Next is QSX, cyQ over a 1 in a tiny circle, 8Ra an ayf on the collar( square locking lug groove), next is fd,CYQ,hyo with 8AZ and bhy on the collar(rounded locking groove, last one has MA dfb over a 10in a shield as well as dfb on the barrel, dfb over a 12 on the collar as well as Mc and 8 ( this one is square locking lug groove)

These are virtually worthless.
Send them to me for proper disposal.

12thWaffenSS....(and "goldidig"),
On the same subject....YOU ARE CORRECT..... "unless" you live in Canada, because BATF Imports-Branch will not allow the required BATF Form-6A for weapons-parts due to their "sporting-clause".
If you doubt this, please call either the BATF......or call "John" (owner of "MARSTAR" up in Canada) and ask him if they can be shipped to the USA.

Re: MG42 barrel question?
Glad you made it over here! I sent him this way because i knew you guys would have some better information on the barrels. I was confused about the chrome lining, i figured rearsenal maybe? I thought i read that the squared locking grooves in the extension were an early war feature, but also was not 100% sure. Marstar is selling german barrels for $125. But i didn't want this fellow to get ripped off if the square grooved extension barrels would potentially be worth more than the base price i suggested to him!
edit: Anyone have a source he could look up information on his WaA markings at? Or perhaps anyone would be willing to give him a hand? I do not believe that the barrels could be sent southside, but i'm sure some "extra heavy golf club shafts" could be no problem just kidding. It would not be legally advisable to export these beauty's !
Also, the 2nd barrel from the bottom... is it just dirty, or is that some sort of different finish? kinda looks parkerized or something?
