What is a good price these days for a case of 900?
How much does a case weigh?
How much can one expect to pay for shipping?
Ranking in terms of preference?

I like either the Roumanian or Portuguese, they seem to have few if any problems.Roumanian comes in sardine cans of 380 rounds in small boxes, two tins to a crate. Not sure how much to pay,as I haven't seen any in a while.I paid around $75 for a can of Roumanian last year, and no shipping,I picked it up.The shipping was quite high the last I got sent, but finding it is harder to do all the time. ---bil BTW-sent your rivets today. Finally!

Thanks for sending those rivets out. I can finally replace those screws! I have heard that yugo has hard primmers. Is it really that big of a deal? I just installed a heavy weight hammer spring in the 42. I have a line on sime 1950's yugo $175 for a sealed 900 can. Shipping was quoted at $35 - what do you think. Its the cheapest I have seen by far. I could handle 1 in 25 not going off for that amount.

Semi's do not seem to have problem with the 1950's Yugo but most FA MG34 owners including myself have had trouble with it. Works great in bolt actions.

I have shot thousands of rounds of 50's dated Yugo in 34's 42's and A4's. Other than an occasional misfire, which usually fired 2nd time, haven't had much of a problem. Only Turkish I found that was reliable was 49 dated. Some of my friends have had good results with 50's dated Turkish. My favorite 8mm has been Portugese (now to expensive if you can find it) and the pre war brass German 8mm that J&G had for sale years ago. Fortunely stocked up on that.

A guy on the 1919a4 board just sold 10 cases of Romanian 8mm. He wanted 25 cents a round or so and it seemed to sell within 1 day. The only thing worse is 308 prices.
Sign of the imes. I can't get used to the idea of these prices.
This UN thing is killing us.

Has anyone tried buying componants (brass, primers, etc) and reloading vs buying loaded ammo?
Curious if there would be any cost savings since the prices are going up.
Then again I may be tarded and the price of brass and everything else may be going up as well. Its just a wild hair I got

if you can find 8mm fmj bullets let us know. I'm still looking. S&B does make them...but won't send them to the USA. I've already checked into it. All I can find in the USA is soft points for hunting......don't feed worth a crap in an MG.

Considering the expense of a full auto MG42, I refuse to shoot 50 year old ammo in mine. I've discussed it all before. It's crazy to have a $40,000 gun, and take a chance on blowing it up to save 20 cents a shot on ammo. Modern surplus, OK. Old junk? Nope.

I have run across lots of Romanian and tons of Yugo 1950's stuff lately and it shoots good, though the Yugo primers are set deep and are hard to set off if the firing pin protrusion is not adequate, but I have opportunity to score a huge amount of Czech 8mm but I have no knowledge of this ammo. It is nickle plated steel jacket bullets like the Greek stuff, and if any of you guys know please tell me, what does this stuff do to your barrels? Blasting large amounts of copper jacket ball is hard enough on the rifling. Is the steel jacket stuff just going to rip my barrel smooth in no time?
Enquiring minds want to know..
