Just open the latest issue of SGN and Century has an add for an M53 semi. No mention when it will be available or what pricing will be. Interesting.

Well that would explainb why almost all the kits are being sold short. They're stealing the parts for the MG42-semi debut.

Talked to Tony at Wise Lite Arms the other day. They are doing the receiver for them.

OK, well, I guess I'll have to get me one of these too. Like I've not spent enough money already.
I don't think I'm going to be in any position to say anything when a certain lady goes shopping.
Guess I'll have an excuse to sell my Krinkov.

I second the motion.
And, these were supposed to be priced for us a while back, as was stated a moment ago in another thread.
I hope Coldsteel comes through as a back-up. Or primary, whichever the case. I have no certain preference, as long as it's AVAILABLE.
Still tracking this question with WLA..

Just today I spoke to Tony at Wise Lite Arms. In the course of our conversation I reminded him that there were a good number of folks still quite interested in pricing of the WLA MG42/Yugo M53 receiver and also wanting to know if "Camming sections" can be stamped out. He stated that he has not forgotten, but as of today doesn't have an answer to either question. As with all big projects there are other folks involved and he needs complete info from them in order to make an accurate quote.
So, please be patient and I'll be sure to post as soon as solid info is available.

I just got back to work today after being laid-off since Sept. So I celebrated by ordering one of Sarco's kits. Actually I did that Mon. but I thought I'd better get one while the getting is good. After these are sold who knows what the price will be or even if they will be available.
Also as someone has said, they are using the parts kits to make complete semi 42's and cutting a lot of would-be builders out of the loop.
Since I already have my SA-42 built, I really don't have a horse in this race. But it seems to me a smart businessman would sell recievers to both parties. The big guys and the little guys. I would think you could sell more receivers to one time builders than you would to the big guys. For the average guy, you talking the difference between a receiver and a complete firearm. Most of us do this as a hobby, not as a business and we don't have mega bucks to spend.
I'd rather sell 50 separate receivers for the retail price rather than 25 receivers at the wholesale price. But then, that's just me.

Oh he will sell to both, it's just that he has a commitment with Centry first.

Maybe it is better for him to sell to Century first.Years ago I worked at an auto Dealership.Every new model had its own quirks, and needed time to sort out.People in the know never bought the new model, let the bugs get worked out on someone elses dime. Then buy.I am waiting too,but if Century wants to work out the kinks first, have at it! ---bil

Actually, the Yugo M53 receiver/bolt conversion/grip/Fire control group that Wise Lite Arms will produce is "next generation/product improved". They studied the original manufacturing methods and designs used by the Germans. Next, A whole lot of time and study went into ensuring flaws in previous semi designs were avoided. Many comments were gathered from the "field" so that WLA could build the best product possible. Extensive testing has been conducted and will continue to happen right up until full production commences. WLA has nurtured a strong working relationship with the BATFE Tech Branch so that there will be no question concerning the legality of the finished product. Tony and WLA are very proud of this program. The M53 looks great and runs like the original (only slower!)
I can't hardly wait to get one out on the range alongside my DP-28.

Are the using a complete new made receiver or just new back halves, seems time consuming to mess with re-welding.
What do you mean buy "next generation/improved product

The Yugoslavian M53 receiver that Wise Lite Arms intends to deliver will be fabricated using a new made machined barrel bushing, the original barrel jacket section of the receiver and a new made stamped rear assembly. Consideration was made of stamping out an entire receiver. However, after studying the German process and review by the stamping engineers, it became obvious that the cost was just beyond the scope of the project. So, the design folks and the engineers worked up this solution. It was the right way to go. Trials have been very sucessful! The aircraft quality welding used to join the receiver sections is a strong as the original one piece receiver. Coming out of a fabrication shop means that weld shrinkage is calculated and techniques used prevent warping.
When I state that this M53 receiver is "next generation/product improved" the meaning is that all previous designs have been evaluated and this receiver will have the best of all features, to include some of WLA design.
This project has been a steady climb to the top since being in the concept phase.

Woops,my bad!! I didnt know it was the actual price, just wishful thinking. Now that I know, thanks for posting the price and also my myopic oversight!
---bil actually,I didn't think it was athe real price,as I didn't think they could bring it in for that low.I thought it would be about $1000 more! At this price, why did I spend my retirement money on parts kits! ---bil

If that is in fact the price, there will be one in my future. I still am planning on doing a build, and it will be alot easier for me to do so with a working example to emulate.
I wonder how many units they plan to produce? The number of kits coming into the country isn't infinite.

A couple of points. The price you quote is Century's dealer price. Not sure what the suggested retail will be. Also, this firearm was displayed to the distributors a short time back. Their orders are already placed. It will be interesting to see what the distributors sell them for. Typically their cost to dealers will be lower than Century's dealer pricing. The estimated production of these guns is ten per month. They should start shipping out in a few months. I suspect the distributor orders will be supplied first. How many will be made/sold? All the Yugo M53 sets are already in the country, no more can/to be imported. Century will sell them until there is no more customer interest in buying them!

Now does everyone see why century has been trashing the receivers on the M53 kits that they have been selling?
"Our lawyers said we should exceed ATF MG42/M53 demil spec. to reduce our liability" - yea, right!!!
