I just recently purchased a mg42 parts kit from Sportsmans Guide, because it was the only one I could find. Is there a list of components so I know if I have all of them. I know I didn't receive the whole demilled receiver. I normally collect C&R rifles, but this one caught my eye and would like to assemble it to semi auto when possible. Any info appreciated.

I would also suggest you get manuls from http://www.germanmanuals.com .

Welcome to the Forum.

Here is a pic of the parts received. I took the grip stick apart to clean so all the hardware is not shown.

Sorry I am a newbie to this. But what do those parts look like? There were some small pins and such that I didn't include in the pics for fear of losing them. I have a drawing of the parts breakdown but it is in German. Not a fluently German reader/speaker.

Hey guys, I think that his buttstock is Yugo, just noticed that strange marking on it, Yugo SKS's and MG3's have a distinctive mark that some soldiers scratched onto. Its a rectangular something, almost a cross. Sorry I cannot describe it: I am at school right now...

How about that bent barrel change door? looks like that gun blew up before it was demilled.

I looked at the door I cant seem to tell if it is bent or not. It doesn't seem stressed at any point. The grip panels are not in the picture. I took them to work and cleened everything in ink remover. Gets all the gunk off really fast.

Yeah, your buttstock is Yugoslavian. Did you buy this kit as a German MG42?
