Long time lurker, first time poster. Finally broke down and bought one.
I think I have a circa 1944 Mauser Werke, Borsigwalde. But what is the "propeller" looking proof mark on the receiver?

Well I think that you have done your home work on the markings and have them correct. The prop, well I would call metal hits or something that was not put on by the Germans.
More pics of the full weapon would be great.
Long time lurker is right!!! -- joined 2008 and first post in 2013. LOL Hope to see a lot more posts.

I just looked at the pic that had been posted and thought I would check my pictures of my deactivated MG42 because that prop stamp looked really familiar, lo and behold I have it on mine as well no idea what it is though. The crossed swords stamp you can see is the proof house stamp that confirms it has been deactivated.
