Nice photos. Have you done anything like this before? I'd like a semi MG-42, but don't know where to start.

4TH July Harbor Freight with all discounts out the door $638. Cut the Semi-Receiver perfect. Semi-Receiver fits up to Front end perfect. Just need to finish "D" cut out for Rails. Started cutting out top area.

No, this is my first project working with metal components. I have many years experience welding steel, Stainless Steel, and Aluminum. But that is all different than a MG42 Build. I did purchase the M31 Kit from Center-Fire. That should build a lot easier than this build. My hobby is wood working. I just got this ID about doing this. Not sure why. Probably for the challenge.

What I did was to start @ the buffer end. Than work my way up to the Charging Handle.

Cut out some of the top cuts on Mill Drill. Checking fit up to receiver. Adjust "D" cuts. Checking Rails and Adjusting.

You have the crest for the Democratic Yugoslavia formed in 1943, Your M53 was not made in 1943 but rather the date on the crest celebrates the birth. It is a neat piece of history. Tito did the impossible, he kept the Balkans from "balkanizing," kept the Soviets out, and for the most part did not go powermad during his tenure.
