Value of a dfb marked mg42 barrel

Post by DrJekyll »

I am just getting into building mg42s and I scored a excellent condition dfb marked barrel with a few disinctive waffenments on it. I was just wondering the value of it

Are we taking a WWII marked barrel and WWII marked Barrel-Extension (?)...........or just one with markings on the Barrel-Extension (?).

To give you a better idea of pricing......let us know:
1: Markings on the Barrel.
2: Markings on the Barrel-Extension.
3: Condition of barrel and extension.
4: Is the Barrel-Extension "Blued" or of a "bare-metal-finish"(?).
5: Is the chamber and bore "chrome-plated"(?)......if so, then we would be looking for specific markings on the barrel (Question #1 above).

These basic answers should help us to help you gauge where the value is on your MG42-barrel.....or MG42 Barrel w/Extension.
I may be able to use it in my collection if the price is right.....or to make a 2-pcs. Blank-Barrel-Assembly from if the condition is less.
