INTERESTED IN WHAT PEOPLE ARE FINDING WRONG WITH YUGO 50'S BATCHES. FIRST I AM NOT SAYING ANYTHING BAD ABOUT THE ROMANIAN 70'S LOVE THAT STUFF. BUT I HAVE ALOT OF 50S AS WELL. THE ONLY PROBLEM I HAVE HAD SO FAR IS I HAD ONE SHELL CASING HAVE THE PRIMER COOKIE CUT. BASICALLY THE FIRING PIN PUNCHED THROUGH THE PRIMER, AND THAT CIRCULAR CUT PIECE OF BRASS FOUND ITS WAY INTO THE BOLT HEAD. IT WAS JUST BY CHANCE I SAW THE SHELL CASING AND WAS LOOKING FOR PIECES DURING CLEANING. BOLT WORKED FINE ALL DAY SHOOTING NO JAMMING. I ALSO LOOKED THROUGH REST OF THE SHELL CASINGS AT END OF DAY TO SEE IF ANY OTHERS WERE EFFECTED, AND FOUND JUST THE ONE. I HAVE SHOOT THIS AMMO THROUGH BOLT, SEMI AUTO RIFLE, AND MG53 SEMI. THE MG53 WAS THE ONE WITH THE PROBLEM. JUST WONDERING IF PROBLEMS EXIST MORE WITH FULL AUTO FIRING OR MAYBE CERTAIN YEARS OF THE 50'S. OR MAYBE I AM JUST LUCKY. SO GIVE SOME INPUT PLEASE, I SEE ALOT OF NEGATIVE ABOUT THE 50'S ON MANY BOARDS AND WONDERING IF IT CAN BE JUSTIFIED. THANKS FOR ANY HELP ROBERT

I read the first few words of your post and gave up.

You might get the info you are looking for if you type normally and use correct punctuation and grammar.

Welcome to the site! What he means is you have your caps lock on,and that means that you are yelling! :D The Yugo has problems like you describe, check with the 'search' function for more info.I use Roumanian and portuguese, more reliable. ---bil

sorry didnt realize i was yelling or the cap lock was on. as for the rest my grandma was a grammar teacher not me i passed through college by extortion and sex. (Try a different word.) i can hardly type because all the shaking i do, crappy Europa disease. i was just trying to get some helpful answers not a new york attitude. maybe it should be put in the rules that you cant type in capital and you must have good grammer and punctuation. sorry just pissed and venting but it does make me feel like i dont wont to play here anymore. robert :burn:

Stick around-sometimes it gets like this, not often! Mostly helpful,we usually get the caps lock thing from machinists, they all seem to write that way.We are equal opportunities nut-busters. :? You are allowed to use some caps, sprinkle them where your gramma would like. :D As I said,I have seen where others have had some problems with the yugo stuff. We have plenty of other good info here, too.Stick around, you might like it! ---bil

I actually really like the 50's Yugo, but really only in my MG34. It works really well in that, and I'd buy more anytime. That said, the stuff just doesn't work as well in the Maxim MG08 or 08/15: It mostly fires, but some rounds just don't go off. I rarely have that problem in my MG34, and I suspect it's due to the firing pin spring being a LOT stronger in the MG34.

I have not had many events like what you're mentioning with it, but the Romanian is clearly better Ammo for the MG08 and 08/15: it works in anything, and I try to hold it for those guns now.

I fired up a couple belts of mixed Paragon floor sweepings 8mm a few days ago, that was easily the worst c*ap ammo I have fired in a long long time! It was terrible! I couldn't believe how bad it was, I'd forgotten. I quit shooting it and set it aside to separate all of it out by headstamp and try again. The 50's Yugo is miles better ammo than 1950's Italian!

The Romanian is really nice is a semi-auto. Sometimes the primers in the Yugo are a bit hard for SA. The Yugo seems to work well for those guys who have a FA. I would suggest you pick up a couple of boxes and try it before you invest in a bunch to see how it functions in your gun.
