1st Model Charging handle has arrived....
Just came in today, verdict is still out as to if original or not. I like the rust on it, but that can be faked. Haven't seen any markings as of yet..

Yes....it does appear to be a "reproduction" that someone has taken the time to "age" (rust).

Yup it's a fake. The extension that grabs on to the bolt lugs to charge the gun give it away.

Bummer, oh well, at least I didn't pay that much for it, and it'll sure look good on display..... Now if I would have paid a ton of money for this it would be a different story....guess you can't win every one... CHris..

Keep it and use it on your MG-42 as a study in why they got rid of the thing as soon as they could. It's a pain using this to cock the bolt.
