Ive got a 1943 MG42 full auto.It runs great on new 8mm 198gn ammo.When it comes to 154gn Romanian steel ammo it wont cycle at all.Any suggestions on fixing? Thanks

Are the chambers in your barrel smooth? Are you having problems with casing stickage in the chamber? Having problems with extraction? Steel casings do not shrink instantly after firing as much as brass cased ammo. Romanian 8mm has an excellent reputation as far as surplus goes. I used it exclusively in my MG-42 for years.

What size nozzle are you running. You could try a slightly smaller nozzle to increase the recoil pulse. Try that and see if it helps.
