MG42 rail Set question for semi?

Post by anthunter »

Hello and new the forum was wondering if I can use the rail set from my mg42 kit for semi-auto. I have seen alot of folks that have receivers and semi-parts sets that have new ones. Also was under the understanding that one side is small by a few mm's. which side would that be.. thanks in advance.

Both rails are the same size. The left rail is flat on the rear at the bottom, instead of curved on the top and bottom (funnel-like). The rail with the flat goes on the left, flat side down, to avoid interfering with the recuperator tube. The other rail is for the right side. There is no reason (barring deep gouges, twisting, etc.) to not use the rails for a semi.

Semi or full auto, the rails are the same. It's the same bolt for both, just modified internally for semi, therefore the same rails are used.
