By the photo, it looks more like those markings are from the left-rear of the receiver of the MG42 manufactured by Gustloff-Werke, Suhl in 1943.
Below these "engraved" markings should be a serial-number w/wo-prefex.....and under that engraved code of "dfb" (which is the code for Gustloff-Werke, Shuhl for that year 1943).
