Does anyone know what the purpose of the buffer sleave is? I'm talking about the sleave that goes over the buffer bolt and under the buffer spring. It looks like a very large roll pin.
On one of my buffers, this sleave is loose, and slides back and forth along the buffer bolt rather easily. It makes a lot of noise! I guess I could take it apart and crimp the sleave a bit to tighten it up. Just wondering what it's purpose was in the first place, and if others have seen them loose on the bolt.
