7.62 x 54R Conversion?

Post by tucsonsailors »

There was a thread several years ago about trying to convert a M53 using the 308 feedtray and a rechambered barrel - based on the Finnish WWII conversion. Did anyone actually end up making that, the thread dies, and I didn't want to bump it just curious as 7.62 x 54R is still commercially available and relatively cheap. I know that the 1919 crowd has that option, just looking for commonality of cailber for the expensive to feed ladies - Betty Grable and Lili Marlene.

Otherwise the single caliber that they have in common in conversions is the .308/7.62 nato conversion, right now they're both in 8mm, which I have some, but way nowhere near enough, and don't expect the prices to come down to anything reasonable anytime soon, if ever.

I believe that it's been done. I also would be interested in details about using 7.62x54.
Anyone??

I did it when i was a wiselite but was using uk59 belts could not get them to feed
uk59 belts might work if you use a striping system like a uk59 but never had time
