Hairline crack in barrel extension?

I have 3 (mint) Yugo 8mm barrels and noticed something "strange" about the extension on all of them. On both sides, in the center of the extension, there appears to be hairline cracks running from the bolt end to the hole. They are all uniform & wonder if they're cracks or something in the machining process, but am a little concerned/curious.
Does anyone else have this on theirs?

I also have a couple of barrel extension with cracks in them... I was planning to replace, then reset head space and go from there.
Interested in what some other thoughts are on this...

I have noticed these myself on several of my barrel extensions. I had assumed they were cracks but wasn't sure. Any additional info would be helpful.

Post a couple clear/close "PHOTOs" of those "cracks" to make sure you are not talking about some of the heat-treated-areas on the Barrel-Extensions...................(?).

Believe-it-or-not.....those are "Heat-Treatment-Lines".

If you don't believe it......try knocking one of those center "wedges" out with a ballpeen-hammer......if they are cracks, it will just pop right out (remember, you said they were bad anyway....what could you hurt.....correct-?).

Yup those are what mine look like. On some of the barrels I have the line isnt visible but those are barrels with the finish less worn. Good to know they aren't cracks. Thanks to everyone for the insight. I continue to learn more about the MG42 system every day.
