WIse Lite M53 issues

Post by gregg877 »

Took my WiseLite semi auto M53 out today for the first time, and had all kinds of problems. It would not cycle or feed at all (using military ammo as prescribed) and on top of that the charging handle came out of it's track and would not go in. The booster also doesn't lock in place. Needless to say, it was a major dissapointment. I've fired real MG42's with no problem, and I'm familiar enough with it to rule out any kind of operator error. I'm also a full time small arms repairer in the guard, and work on beltfeds regularly, as well as others in my collection such as the lakeside micro beltfeds, and a full size 1919A4. I'm absolutely stumped.

Contacting wiselite is a no brainer, but there is no phone number on their site. I'm also a massachusetts customer, and despite the fact that we can have them here, they indidcated on their site that they wont do business with mass customers along with california, new jersey, conneticuit blah blah blah. Shot them an e-mail anyway.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks, Gregg

Thanks for the link, some interesting items there amidst all of the pissing. I know I've seen the issues about he charging handle elsewhere, but it will take some time to dig them up, most of which I recall ended up being a return trip to wiselite.

I did manage to find their phone number in another post, and I'm gonna call first thing in the morning.

Updates follow...

I hate to take the charging handle out for cleaning on my WLA 53 as it can be a royal PITA getting it back into grove.

Sometimes it gets right in...other times I gotta work it...take it out...then try again.

You said the booster wouldn't lock...booster cone?
