Sorry, my kit was not directly from apex. I bought it from a forum member, but it could have very well been from apex once upon a time. The cuts look similar to the kits apex carries (well pictures), but really, that could just be a coincidence. By clean, all the parts are intact, no damages, barrel shroud has a nice clean cut, and the barrel bushing area was cut, so that it did not distort the actual shroud itself. Minor surface rust on the bipod, nothing a good blasting and re-park won't fix. Which i plan to do with my parts anyways, so don't matter to me.
If your talking about the cosmoline i experienced, well it took me roughly 2-3 days of cleaning, after having allowed my parts to soak in a bucket of diesel for a week. Mind you, the barrel shroud could not be soaked due to size, so i went through 3 cans of degreaser on it! If yours is as greased up as mine, prepare for about a quarter inch of sludge to clean

! ( And the funny part is, i'm not even joking

, have fun

)
Think of it this way, the dirtier it is with cosmoline, the cleaner it will look underneath the grime

.
