I think that is a wise idea. While on the subject, what size drill bit should I use to redrill the rivet holes in my BRP "dummy" reciever? TIA, Mike

It's important to know the correct terms for the parts.... saves a lot of questions and time, as well as allowing you to understand the conversations on here. You can't tell the auto mechanic it's the transmission unless you know what the transmission is.

Just thought I'd post a link to my website in case anyone wanted to look it over.

Thanks for the recommedations guys. I have an MG15 manual I've just finished, I'm working on a nice MP40 manual, and just today a very nice 98K manual came in from Germany.

Lots of good stuff on the way!

Now that some people have the BRP recievers, what do you think of them? Would you buy another? I am hoping they can be covinced to do another G.B. Thanks for the info. I would also like to see a step by step tutorial if it is ever posted.

Here is the blocking plate removed from the BRP. Seems a little over kill.

MGAPA, did you drill it out or "wack" it out???? Looks like mine.

I started "whacking it out" but realized if I ground down the welds from the outside it warmed it up and broke easier. Now I need to figure out how to grind down the slag/leftovers on the inside.

Where the BATFE and the grey bar hotel are concerned, there is no such thing as overkill.

I have received some MG manuals form John MG-15, MG-34, MG-42, Lafette Tripod manual, Scope Manual and Kar 98k and it as everyone has said, they are a wealth of information. If you read through his product listing, he does say that some of the material overlaps, but repetition can be a good thing too. They are all nicley done, with the front title cover in German and the following page in English.

These manuals make it easy to figure out the systems, functions and maintenance. So if you haven't got a manual e-mail John and he'll square you right away. The next gunshow I got to, I am going to bring my manuals incase I see some "unknown" part in a bin. You will ne be disapointed, - I'm not the official spokesman for John, just reiterating what Dan and others have said about John's work.

These are the titles that I ordered from him (you can just cut and paste):

MG-15 L. Dv. 110/1 - Beschreibung und Bedienungsvorschrift für das M.G. 15 This 1939 dated manual is a translation of the 129 page Luftwaffe manual for the M.G. 15 air-cooled machine gun. $28 – includes U.S. first class postage.

MG-42 H.Dv. 241 - Ausbildungsvorschrift für das MG. 42 als le. u. s. MG. (Waffenausbildung) - Instruction Manual for the MG. 42 as a light and heavy MG. (Weapon Training). $27 – includes U.S. first class postage.

MG-42 H.Dv. 216/6 – Das Maschinengewehr 42 , for the M.G. 42, translated to English. $27 – includes U.S. first class postage.

MG-42 D166/1 - Maschinengewehr 42 , The M.G. 42, Description, Operation, and Care. Sept. 2, 1943. $18 – includes U.S. first class postage.

CharlieB wrote:My BRP receiver arrived today. Surprised at how complete it is. Barrel latch, camming piece installed. Got the new made bolt carrier, bolt spring, new firing pin and a separate BRP designed FA bolt block. I've got a SA AR-15 style gripstick on the way as well. Now we proud owners of bright, shiney new receivers who are also technically challanged are going to need guidance in putting this into SA action. Sure would be nice if we could get a step-by-step photo tutorial just for this BRP project!!! Just think of the valuable humanitarian service this would be to your fellow man!!
My receiver arrived and I was looking it over last night. Mine was one of the 2 serialized receivers in the weaponeer buy.
I am wondering what else came attached to your receiver. I am trying to get a feel for how they came because I am thinking that mine did not have some of the pieces installed that had been mentioned in the buy.
Can someone post a picture of the entire receiver looking just as it arrived?
Thanks,

to replace the cam you remove the bolt or drive out the rivet, and the cam comes apart, when you have one to look at you will see what i mean :D

Guys, I have some parts I can't figure out or have a question about.
1. Can someone show me a pic how the recuperator installs?
2. What the hell are 2,3, and 4???
5. Can someone show me a pic and/or dimensions of the placement of the BRP bolt block.
6. I have the hole in the camming pieces for the dust cover but where does the other end attach?

Thanks.

1 recouperator
2 recoup plunger
3 recoup rear bolt
4 recoup front bolt
5 brp bolt blocker
6 ejection dust cover

insert the plunger into the recoup then take the front recoup bolt and insert with the long end facing back, to do this you will need to compress the recoup plunger :D
