Great men are born in fire, it is the privilege of lessor men to light the flame, no matter the cost

So, I don't get a Yugo barrel after all, Long Mountain must of figured that I had a couple of bucks left. So I get the German barrel and then while they got me on the phone, I may as well get a ammo can with 4 belts. I've only been at this a couple of weeks! Will this stop?

Hi, my name is J W and I have a shooting problem
Addiction
maxposner,
Your statement, "will this stop", is only the beginning! I can see now that you have a severe case and are totally addicted to this gun. You will probably have to rent a storage unit to store all the stuff you will accumulate, LOL!
Seriously, this gun is addictive and right now is the time to buy what ever you think you will need as the prices don't appear to ever go down. I got into the gun a couple of years ago and I bought all the spares and parts I needed and thought the price was high then, but WOW, they are high now. The supply of all spares will be diminishing as folks get into this gun, and I see the parts which folks need posted in the "Wanted" section of the Forum. 8mm Barrels were selling for $50 six months ago and now they are as high as $150, when you can find them. I was buying new WWII German Belts for $5 max, and now they are selling in the $10 range. Get them now!
One thing you may want to get is a couple of the Belt Drums. Currently, Sportsmans Guide has them for $40 each. They call them post war, but I think they are WWII drums that were repainted by Yugoslavia. These are not a bad buy. I have some to be delivered Monday and I will post their condition when I get home (out of town for most of the week)

Frum Condition
Buchsenmacher,
Thanks for the report on the Drum condition! From the colors you describe, it sure sounds like they are German WWII. Mine are due to arrive Monday, but I won't get to seen them until Thursday since I will be out of town, RATS!

Just opened my LMO 8mm Yugo barrel. Very well packaged; best I have seen yet.
Bore was dark but the rifling is well defined. Unfortunately, the corrosion in the chamber , breech face, camming area and about 6-8 inches of barrel is just as well defined . The outside of the barrel IS in very good condition but ?????

Barrels
When the new barrel ban was announced, I decided to get another .308 barrel and I boought it from Numrich along with some other items. The one I recevied was a .308 Steyr in new condition. The best part was it was only approx. $50!! I should have bought more, but I did not want to be greedy so other folks could have them. I have enough to last me the rest of my lifetime anyway.
