Bending a spring, a tutorial

To get a square end on your mainspring after you cut it, bevel the cut end, then with a small torch heat a spot across from the cut end and bend the end flat. quench the spot and do not heat more than a small spot.

the great thing about this is that you can do exactly what you did and use the part you cut off to practice on!!

So we use the LITTLE part??! :? :lol: ---bil Pirate-thanks for this tutorial-short and to the point.I will fix my spring when I get home.
