I have an original Mg34 transit box for the MG34. I know that among the original items are spare barrel containers and a gunners pouch. Can anyone out there give me an idea what are items are necessary and right to put in it.

Thank you for info...can you expand on the spare barrel carriers. Were they 1 tube holding 2 barrels or 4 tubes holding single barrels. Please clarify. The number of barrels is clear...just single or double carrier tubes??

The chest had 4 single carriers. Normally the Portuguese guns had 5 barrels that were all serial numbered to the gun and then stamped 1-5.

May I request some pics of your transit box for the 34? I would like to build a reproduction.

Thanks.

Hello,

I sold it in 2005 to a collector in Chicago. I may have photos of it on a CD. I will look today and if I find them post them for you.

There are other posts that deal with the transit chest on this forum and also the building of them. You might have to dig around but they are here somewhere.

Regards,

Remember that the "original" is Portuguese, and not German!!
