I recently bought this adjustable bipod. The seller thought it was for a mg42, but there are no markings. Anyone recognize it? There is also a loopy wire thing with a spring attached.

Looks like a ZB30 bipod. (Could be a ZB26 but the feet look more like the ZB30 model.)
No idea what the wire spring thing is.

I think your bipod is a derivative of this bipod here, which is a postwar Israeli bipod made to fit the MG-34. By the way, this bipod is for sale. PM me if interested.

Thanks..thats exactly what it is, just missing the mounting cup. Anyone know where to get a mounting cup? If not, anyone want to buy a post-war mg34 bipod missing the mounting cup?

That bipod is for a Czech ZB26. The little feet are the give away. The Israelis converted them to use on MG34s. I believe because of the adjustable leg height. They may have mfg the complete assy at some point but I am pretty sure it was just the MG34 mount that they made up. The little feet and narrow footprint of this bipod sucked big time and was switched later on the ZB30 to have a wider foot and wider footprint to make it more stable. The later ZB30 bipods look pretty much like the Bren bipods.
