Hey guys, I was looking at this website (Bunker Militaria) and I saw where they were listing an original MG42 AA sight for $200. But they also was listing the REPRO AA sights for the MG42 and MG34. Don't know anything about them, just wanted to pass along the info. Here is the address:

Well, I gave it a try and we'll see. Thanks for the tip, it's a great find. I've been looking for a repro for quite a while. They just disappeared from the scene. Hopefully, this one will show up.
I appreciate the members throwing out these opportunities when they run into them.
Sincerely,
mgfun

I saw this post on another Forum yesterday and hoped the link would prove helpful to someone. Please keep us posted when you receive the parts and how they look.
Did you look at the other stuff they have? The prices are a little high on some items, but reasonable on others.

I bought an MG3 (HK) brand new AA sight from
http://www.robertrtg.com and it was new sealed in the original package. I know it isn't correct but my gun is a BRP receiver w/ a Yugo M53 kit. I liked the look of the MG3 sight better anyway so what the hell, my gun is nowhere near original. $79 and shipping was within 7 working days. Good luck.

I too have thrown my hat in the ring ( so to speak ) and ordered one. I'll keep you posted on how long it takes to the UK and what it's like. I mean, for $35 it's got to be good, right??

hard to mess up for 35$ perhaps a AA sight is too simple to screw up.

I thought the same thing as "CRA", that for $35, you would not be out much anyway. I would bet that the AA sights are the same one as IO was selling last year until they ran out. Did any of you guys look at the other stuff they have for sale?
I remember where I got the website address; it came from the P.38 pistol Forum. One of the guys said he bought one of the original wood, WWII German ordnance boxes.

Wouldn't that be one of those parts that could be programmed and turned out by the thousands pretty easy on a CNC? They are sort of symetrical and could be made out of any type of steel or even aluminum. $200 for a repro seems expensive...

MGAPA,
If I remember correctly, the $200 is an original sight. Further down the page are the MG42 and MG34 Reproduction sights for $39.95 ea.
The repros that IO had for sale were stated to have been made on the original tooling. I don't know if this is correct or not, but the repros from IO were NICE!!! I would like to have an original, but the cost difference just does not justfy the purchase.

It's the ORIGINAL (?) that's $200, the replicas are £35.
