Mg42 ammo can, original or yugo

Post by motley13crue »

Does anyone have pictures showing the difference between original German ammo cans compared to yugo cans? I just bought one and its stamped "41" and has a waA stamp as well, but are there any positive ways of identifying them?

The Yugo cans were made on the German equipment. They're the same (there are different, earlier styles of German cans, but that's another subject) except for the paint job and lack or presence of proof/date marks.
