:cross: Hi everyone, I REAllY HOPE SOMEONE CAN HELP ME !!

I have a MG42 DUMMY GUN on a Lafette Tripod.
This is in my private collection and, I also use it at our local
military museum for display when we have outside Historical
events.

It may seem to be a Siliy question , But ............

I have a Non-Shooter on a Lafette. I would like to try to make a Mock MGZ Scope
out of Wood for the Lafette , Being as accurate as possible to the original.

Could anyone tell me The basic measurements of the MGZ Lafette Scope
shown in my photos. ( I HAVE POSTED PHOTOS OF THE MEASUREMENT
LOCATIONS NEEDED).

Please if able, send Measurements in INCHES, that would help.

I have NEVER handled one or seen one in person , so I don't know
where to start in Sizing it ??

I could not see spending the money on a Real Working Sight , Knowing
in fact it would be used for nothing but "Show".

It would be GREAT to find a "Burnt Out" or Non-Working Shell MGZ Scope.
I would consider purchasing that to fill the Optics Block, (at a reasonable price).

But for now , I want to try to make one out of wood, I already have the
Metal Sight Base.

I hope that you can help , I need a starting point to begin my Lafette
"Creation".

I have been working on my Dummy MGZ34 Scope for my Dummy Mg42 on a Lafette Tripod.

It is abount 65% complete , needing more sanding sealing , a knob , paint, tweeking ect.

IT IS NOT PERFECT ..... but it will work for my Dummy Display Needs . and cheaper. than
the real thing at $3,500 that I would NEVER actually use.

I would have liked to have had actual measurements , but I received NO help.
I based my sizing off of the Sight Mount on my Lafette and LOTS of photos.

I have purchased a Original MGZ34 Scope Base, to mount onto MY Lafette scope Mount.
It coming this week in the mail so my Dummy scope can be displayed ON my lafette.

I chose to make the MGZ34 scope because it looked less complex structurally and in turn easyer
to copy than the MGZ40 scope.

I is NOT a perfect creation , but it should serve its needs , and look good at a distance.

I would like to still find a Burn out , or Broken MGZ34 or 40 Shell to use as a display scop,
let know if anyone here has one for sale.

I just finished my painting , and the paint that I had was WWII German Panzergrau.

I will repaint it a more correct Apple Green when I get the paint delivered,
it has been ordered.

This to NOT a perfect build. I have taken a few short cuts like not
building the sight collimator , also the Scale is off.
I had nothing to work from in regards to the Sizing, other than photos

I am pleased with the outcome , as it will only sit on top
of my Mg42-Lafette as a Static Dummy Gun (Much cheaper than a Real
MGZ34 Scope) , and it was a fun build.

After I have re-painted the Dummy Scope to Apple Green, I will begin
to detail it out a bit , painting the Black Accents , maybe try to find
a Graduated scale that I can Sticker print to put around the upper Scope Body.

Also I will try to find something like small Flash Light type clear lenses
for the Vision holes .

A lot of the little detail will bring it to life !
