Vehicle mount, anyone shed some light on this... Is it post war, seems like a good deal I just haven't seen this before?

You beat me to it, I was going to note that I have seen them on the turrets of the Leopard tank as an external MG mount and I believe even on the Bundeswehr heavy truck ring mount. Harry
