There are at least six codes not in the Myrvang book: ddx, lww, lwy, btw, gug and dhq. I have all codes except ddx, lww and dhq. That does not mean any one is more rare than the other, it just means that all of them can be a little hard to find and when you do find one it is common for the asking price to be unrealistic. I personally think that mgz40 sights marked cxn are sort of rare. The two most common to find are tan cxn and cme. cme is not a rare code.
I think Folke had a narrow sample of mgz40 sights in Norway when he wrote the book.

This first list is of Manufacture's are from our website members which are backed by photos of the Manufacturers Code and serial number on the MG Z 40. Thanks for your support. This sale is for one MGZ 40 WWII German MG34 MG42 Optical Sight Scope in incredible and original condition. Both the carrying case and the sight are in original Africa Corp colors. CME 305475 are marked on the sight.
