Think I scored again.... Unissued drums in carrier

I went to a local gunshow today and picked up a pair of German drums in an original carrier. The guy had a ton of them and didn't know what they were for. He said he bought them at an estate sale. The drums are a chipping blackish green with what appears to be a tan primer. Both drums are German marked as well as the carrier. One drum the door for the belt is painted shut and hasn't been moved since the paint was put on. Inside there was the most perfect CVO marked starter tabs and belts. They look like they were made yesterday. Is it possible since the painted shut drum that they weren't issued? I got the set with the carrier for 150, and he had a bunch more. I got his business card, should I go back for the others?

Those are FAR from unissued, but still a good deal at $150 a set.

The reason I thought maybe unissued was the door is painted shut with what appears to be the original german paint. It hasn't been moved since the paint was put on it. I know that it is chipping and otherwise ugly, but I thought because of the paint, they may have gone through the war not being used.

Those are from the Portugal lot about 15 - 20 years ago. Hundreds of those sets were imported. 150 is a good buy.

I'd be in for a set. For $150 for sure. See if he will take a little less if you buy them all....

I finally got a reply from the seller, all he said was he was on vacation in Florida until the middle of January and he would email me when he gets back. I am hoping to do a kind of group buy on the drums if he drops the price a little more. He did say he had an original tripod with scope at the gunshow. I am going to try my hardest to get that set for a reasonable price. He said it was all original and full of waffens so wish me luck.
