Belt Comparsion Pics?

I tried to look at the Belt Comparison Pics but the links are gone.

I have some of the new Belts with the spring looking connector between them (came with the MG3 drum packs). But I got some older ones held together by stamped metal connectors. Can I pull these apart and make various length belts?

Just getting into the MG42.

Yes. Those are MG-74 links, they are designed to come apart with finger pressure, so you can add or subtract links at will.
