Pics of my MG34

Here's a few pics. of my '34. It started out as one of the "Like new, matching number" parts sets that Allegheny Arsenal was selling a few years ago. I received a "DOT 43" set in VERY nice shape, with pretty much all matching numbers. My biggest surprise was the buttstock! - I can't believe that they used wood like this on military guns!! A few of the parts (feed tray, barrel, etc.) were force-matched (original serial #'s crossed out and new serial #'s electro-penciled in), but for the most part, the #'s all matched, and the wood more than made up for the mis-matching #'s. I sent it to TNW, and had them assemble it onto one of their receivers (the kit was in such nice shape I told them I didn't want any of my parts re-blued). Overall, I'm quite happy with it (The trigger pull is kinda' heavy, but seems to be smoothing out- I've got about 1000 rounds through it so far), and TNW even numbered the receiver to match my parts set.
One of these days, I'll try to dig out my tripod and get a couple of pictures of the gun on it.

Thanks! I do work out a bit...... :D

The wood ain't bad either! ;)

Seriously, though..... Thanks for the compliments, guys!

This was the very first parts kit I ever ordered, and I was absolutely thrilled when I opened the box from Allegheny and saw the stock...... and NOW look at me- I'm broke, I'm surrounded by boxes of parts kits, trying to figure out where to come up with the money to buy the next one............. and I couldn't be happier!!
