I went to PLDC at FIG in 1987, I think I stayed in the same barracks! Actually, all of the WW2 style barracks look the same.
Do they still have the coal fired furnaces? Ah, the good old days!

I notice that some of the bolts , hardware, and glide plate are black in color. Are these blued, parkerized, or black oxide? Also, I notice that on the 34 laf., it only has one pad.Reichpapers wrote:Actually, the ordnance tan Lafette was done by Dennis, I did the dunkelgrau Lafette.
Do you remember where you sourced out the paint color at?

I can't really answer as to why he did certain parts a certain way...as for the Lafette 34. The backpad plate needed repair. It is waiting for a bead blast so I can paint it and add it to the Lafette.
The paint originally started as RAL 7021 that was still on the books as a color in the local paint stores computer. I'm not sure if the Lafette was from that batch or one made off of an ammo can.

Thanks,
further analysis of the hardware on the lower lafette reveals that the glide plate, and leg hardware are blued and where not painted as they only had one layer of Norwegian paint and no red primer or dunkelgrau. Also, the detent levers for the legs are also blued and had no evidence of being painted either.
