This is a link to a page showing the restoration of a Hetzer tank destroyer. There is a series of interesting pictures in the middle of the page showing the restoration/fabrication of a remotely operated MG34 mount on top of the tank. It's described on pages 260-263 of Myrvang's book but there aren't any pictures in the book showing the mount itself. I think it's really cool, kind of a cross between a periscope, motorcycle handlbars, and a Lafette on steroids. I don't think I've seen any other mounts like it.
Then, at the bottom is a picture of the finished tank with a top view showing the installed 34 and armored mount. I thought it was pretty cool. Since they were missing some of the parts, it says that they fabricated a new copy of the mount. Given the time and expense, I doubt they'd want to make copies but I bet there aren't many places that would go to the trouble of fabricating one of these. Wow!
I did not look to see whether the photos are copyrighted so I am just providing a link. Enjoy.
