As I posted yesterday, I completed my semi 34 build. I used a parts set I got from BRP, a weld jig from projectguns.com and the semi auto trigger/sear setup from TNW. I bought an extra demilled receiver to use as filler in the roughly one inch gap in the receiver that came from BRP. The welding was fairly easy using the jig. The hard part was fitting all the parts to the newly welded semi-only receiver. I used the original firing pin spring instead of the one included in the TNW kit.
Now for the range report. I used two types of 8mm. Romanian steel case and Yugoslav. The Yugo ammo was made in 1982.
I started with the Romanian. First round fired and ejected. So I next put two in the belt. It fired but didnt feed the second round.
I tried again with the same results.
Next I tried the Yugo ammo. I got the same results. It would fire one round and either not fully eject or it would close on an empty chamber. I was using a Israeli barrel at the start and swapped it out with a '41 dated German barrel. I still got the same results. Frustrated, I set it aside and fired some of the other rifles I brought out.
After about 45 minutes I tried again. It was doing single shots like before. Then I got it to fire a second round. The more I shot the more it began to work until it started to function flawlessly. Finally I was able to fire two belts with 45 rounds each without a single hiccup and called it a day.
The good news is, it works. Even better news is that the trigger pull is much improved over the TNW 34 I used to own. My old TNW gun always required two fingers on the trigger to make it fire. This one is much lighter and I was able to fired using only my index finger without much effort.

Re: Semi 34 Range report
That's great good news. Lighter trigger pull and it went through a break in period and sounds like it going to run great.... Way to go..

Sounds like a careful pregnancy and a live birth.
