Having ejection problems?
Having ejection problems?
I have had 3 TNW MG-34s with ejection problems. I called them many many times and tried all there fixes and changed out all of the parts they suggested with no avail !! It was very frustrating !! Well I was talking with Brian with BRP and he suggested his MG-34 tune-up kit. I got it and installed the new ejector and and the remaining parts. His ejector looks just like an original but only .5mm longer. Unlike the TNW ejector witch no two look the same and have round ends. I took two of the out last week and they both worked with out one problem 50rnd each. I hope this helps some of you out there with the same problems. Now the empties come flying out of the receiver !!

Hi Oakrats
Really you fixed the problem great news.Congrats to you.Did any of the fixes by TNW help at all?Or was it just Brian's MG-34 tune up kit from BRP that did the job right.
I am planning to buy the TNW but I heard many horror stories from various sources. It's nice to hear finally somebody got their TNW MG-34 to work properly.I live in Canada ,if I were to purchase this item and run into problems I don't think I can send it back to the US to have it look at by TNW.Now i can just add the parts by BRP.
Are you a Reenactor by chance?

Re: Having ejection problems?
That is OK,
I tried all of their fixes. None of them worked. After I put the bolt tune up kit in it, it ran like a champ. No misfires or failure to eject. There is a big difference in the parts that TNW installed and the parts BRP supplied. BRP's parts look just like the original parts. He also heat treats all the parts just like the originals.

Re: Having ejection problems?
Why do... oh,never mind! You are right, there seems to be a major lull in the building,I know I haven't done much there lately.Waiting for a 34 receiver to be rewelded.I may have to load up my parts and jig and drive to Syracuse! There are also some of the guys that were doing more here that have gone over to projectguns, also. The subguns are cheaper, ammo is cheaper, and there are more ready-made parts. They also do the 34 & 42s,but those are the guys that post here, too.Times are hard,so is.. no,never mind! ---bil

Re: Having ejection problems?
Well Im trying to do my part. I just finished my FA MG42 and am waiting on range approval so I can shoot the thing.
I also just heard my MG34 receiver is done, except for the refinishing, so I should get that back pretty soon.
Also just finished and test fired an AK74 but thats not German enough for here

Re: Having ejection problems?
You guys know me. I always am up to something. I am going to start to re post my MG-42 build. I am also starting and documenting a MG-13 build. I should be starting on that next week. I bought a pair of WW2 Russian rabbit ears. The view was a little foggy. I made a few calls and ether they would send it out to be repaired and cost me a small fortune or they were afraid to touch it. So I figure " What the Hell " I started to take it apart. Everything is covered in cosmolien and most of the internal screws are loose. It also looks like somebody was unsure of what color to paint it and put 40 coats of paint on it. I have it almost completely tore apart. I have documented the rebuild very carefully. Partly I need to know how to put it back together and if anybody else wants to try to do it.
I am waiting on my MG-34 receiver for finial fit and test firing from project guns. I don't have a tig welder. I bought a MP-38a parts kit that will need to be built. I still have 3 MG-42s to assemble.
I'm still young so no Viagra for me. Sorry Rocco and Bill

Yes,I have heard-try tying a string to it,it will make it easier to find when you need to extract it! ---bil Oakrodent-I am looking forward to the mg13 build,I am still looking for a kit.Although if I find one,I think we will be in a race to get it! ---bil

Re: Having ejection problems?
That OK Bill. I think I have enough of them. Unless it is something that really blows my socks off. I think my biggest problem is premature firing ! ! I need to learn a little more trigger control !
