tightening ejector block on MG34?

Hi all,

I've been shooting my MG34, and noticed that I have a occasional, but re-occuring jam where the old round isn't flung out of the gun properly. After switching out bolts, (which didn't make it go away) and a lot of study, I found out that my Ejector block is loose, and Im wondering if that isn't causing it. The block doesn't appear to be over worn, but the whole thing is loose.

I know the Germans apparently didn't consider tightening the screws to be worth doing, but I thought I'd at least try it and see if I was right, that this is the problem. Anyone ever done anything with this block before??

Glen

I have not tightened the ejection block on the mg34, but that will cause problems with ejection. A friend of mine shoots a FA mg34 and he tack welded the block in his receiver, and has never had another problem. After tightening the block, you may want to look at the ejection kit BRP sells.

I'd suggest to tighten the screws and peen a spot at the edge of each screw to prevent loosening.
