Optics question ??

Does anyone have a picture of what the battery pack for the MGZ-34 (lafette optics) looked like ?? I am wondering if it took "D" batteries or something special. How many volts does it take to run the light that goes with that optic ? Thanks in advance.

I'll post a picture later, if not already done by then, but the battery used was a big square looking thing and not like a D sized battery.

Note: if you have an unmodified box, it takes three of the Euro 4.5v batteries. If, however, it has the post war mod (fiberboard insert plus brass tabs riveted into the lid), then it will run on 2 D cell batteries. Please see my comments at the end of the listed thread for a discussion of that.
