Just bought one of these new lighter trigger pull kits from TNW. consists of 5 parts. Apparently (according to Lance) the mod has nothing to do with the trigger group, but with the bolt.

Now heres where the problem lies. Ive had the gun for 2 years now, ran 5k rounds of commercial FMJ ammo through it without a incident (*knocks on wood*). Now ive never taken the bolt fully apart before, and am having trouble getting past the seperation ofthe front half and rear half of the bolt. Does anyone know how to take the front half of these bolts apart? I tried doing it by the manuals, but seem to be missing something.

I finally got mine done a month or so ago and it went from about 20 lbs to about2, now the gun is fun to shoot

How much was it? How long did it take for them to get it to you? I have a TNW MG34 and want one too.

I think it's around $60, and you should receive it in about one week. You do need to machine the trigger to accept the new parts. With a milling machinge and carbide cutters it takes about 30 min.

Be sure you get these parts, cause if you have a old model like mine was, youll need em...

These are what SHOULD be included in the conversion kit
1 ring clip
1 notched washer
1 sear assembly
1 trigger bar (replaces the one attached to receiver) - they forgot this
1 roller with pin

roller goes on the trigger itself. if you got the old type, there will be 1 roller installed near the front of the trigger. youll need to modify the trigger to install a second roller on the back end of the trigger (thanks pirate for the help on this). other parts go into the bolt (ring clips a bitch to change but did it with tweezers) once everything is upgraded, the new pull is dropped to about 3 pounds.

I spoke to lance, and he said the only change was the additional roller. What is different with the trigger bar. My trigger pull is about half what it was but not 3 lbs.

new one has a hump added to it. prob is now, trigger seems to be binding.... I sent them my original trigger to be modded, and they sent back a new trigger with roller on it >:| ill play with it more tomorrow...

well fixed the trigger binding, but overall opinion waste of money as it doesnt really feel any different. maybe needs a lighter firing pin spring or something

I am having a hard time figuring out why everybody's resulting trigger pulls are so different. It's like the trigger pull is being influenced by some other critical factor that the kit doesn't address.

Based on the conversation, this issues wide open.

Well I give up, toyed with it last couple days, and no luck. Just emailed them to let them know what I thought of it, and what not. See what they say......

I had a problem when I first purchased the TNW new, I used only new non corrosive commercial (soft primer) rounds and the primers were blowing out past the firing pin into the bolt. I called TNW and the suggested using an original firing pin spring, so no more overly penetrated primers and the trigger pull was about 1/2 less. Have not tried using surplus ammo.

Just got a reply back from them, they want me to send it to them to look it over, and if it was aby part I got or trigger they'll fix it for free... but if tis something else (more than likely) they will charge another 65 an hour..... Not to sure im ready to throw more money into it atm... stay tuned lol

looking at the schematic and talking to Randy at TNW it looks like it needs to be milled at the back and a hole drilled. I think I will send a spare trigger to them and let then do it. Thanks again TomCat.

yeah there was a significant amount of metal removed from the rear for me to be able to do with a dremil, so i sent it out, and got it back a week later.

Been dryfiring the new set up, and seems to be lightining up a little bit. Im going to put the original trigger bar back in, see if its any better before I break down and send the gun to TNW.
